Whether it's for you or someone you love, it makes a thoughtful, lasting gift.
✨ Features
- 🧶 Baby Alpaca Blend: Made from 70% Baby Alpaca, 23% Polyamide, and 7% Wool — a combination that delivers softness, warmth, and durability in one.
- 🎨 Charcoal Colourway: A versatile, deep charcoal tone that pairs effortlessly with coats, jackets, and everyday layers.
- 📐 One Size, Unisex: A relaxed, slouchy silhouette designed to fit and flatter all head sizes and all genders.
- 🤲 Hand Knitted on a Hand Knitting Machine: Each beanie is crafted by a weaving collective in Peru, giving every piece its own subtle character.
- 🌿 Naturally Pill-Resistant: Alpaca fibre has a natural resistance to pilling, so it holds its look wash after wash.
- ✅ Easy Care: Hand wash cold with a mild detergent, reshape while wet, and lay flat to dry.
💛 Benefits
- 🌡️ Genuinely Warm Without the Weight: Alpaca fibre contains microscopic air pockets that trap heat while keeping the fabric lightweight — warmer than lamb's wool, softer than cashmere.
- 🌱 One of the World's Greenest Fibres: No harsh chemicals are used in alpaca fibre production, and alpacas graze gently on the Andean highlands without damaging the land.
- 🎁 A Gift Worth Giving: Beautifully made and built to last, this beanie is a meaningful gift for anyone who appreciates quality and craftsmanship — perfect for birthdays, the holiday season, or simply because.
- 🦙 Ethically Sourced: The alpacas roam freely in the Peruvian Andes and are not harmed during the shearing process.
- 🖐️ Truly One of a Kind: As with all handcrafted goods, there are slight natural variations between pieces — a small reminder of the hands that made it.

🌍 About the Makers
This beanie is made by Allpa, a collective of 80 small to mid-size workshops across Peru. Their work preserves traditional Peruvian weaving techniques while supporting artisans with training, technical assistance, and access to the global market. In the earliest chapters of Peruvian history, alpaca was reserved for Incan royalty — considered the finest material of all. That legacy of craft and care lives on in every piece Allpa produces.

About SLATE + SALT
Slate + Salt is a socially conscious lifestyle brand offering a curated collection of modern, one-of-a-kind pieces handcrafted by artisans around the world. Their collections include jewelry, accessories, textiles, and decorative objects — all created using traditional techniques and fair trade practices.
Their mission is simple and powerful: to connect modern design with ancient craftsmanship, while supporting dignified work opportunities in communities facing extreme poverty.
Slate + Salt works closely with small social enterprises and Fair Trade cooperatives to ensure that every product supports ethical production, fair wages, and long-term economic empowerment — especially for women artisans.
Every item has a story.
Behind each piece is a person, a family, and a community. By choosing ethically produced goods, you help artisans remain in their villages, support their families, educate their children, and preserve cultural traditions that might otherwise disappear.
Because all products are handmade and often hand-dyed, each piece is naturally unique. Slight variations are part of their beauty — a reminder that these are not mass-produced objects, but human creations made with care.
Slate + Salt was founded by an avid traveler who fell in love with the people, cultures, and craftsmanship she encountered across developing countries. Through deep relationships with artisan groups and Fair Trade partners, the brand brings meaningful, ever-evolving collections to a global community that values beauty with purpose.
At Clozist, we are proud to feature Slate + Salt because their work reflects what we believe in: products that are beautiful, ethical, meaningful — and that create positive impact through everyday choices.
