Carbon Neutral Shipping with Sendle | Clozist

From day one, we built Clozist with the environment in mind. We believe caring for our planet is something we all owe to the next generation — which is exactly why we prioritise local sourcing and sustainable practices. But as the business grew, we faced a real challenge: how do you ship orders without leaving a heavy carbon footprint?

Shipping and logistics account for around 10% of global CO2 emissions. That's not a number we could ignore. So we did our research, and found a carrier that genuinely aligns with our values — Sendle, America's first 100% carbon neutral shipping carrier.

Sendle is a B Corp founded in Australia in 2014. B Corps — short for Better Business — are companies committed to redefining what success looks like, building a more inclusive and sustainable economy in the process.

How Does Sendle Ship Carbon Neutral?

Sendle offsets CO2 emissions by funding projects that actively reduce them. Think regenerating forests, replacing outdated equipment with cleaner technology, and even supporting communities in sustainable beekeeping. As part of the Sendle community, we get to vote every year on which projects to support — so there's real accountability built in.

In 2024, Sendle is backing a range of impactful projects around the world.

We Go a Step Further

Partnering with Sendle was a great start — but we didn't want to stop there. We've also teamed up with Greenspark to do even more with every order you place:

  • We offset 7kg (15.43 lb) of CO2 per order
  • We remove 2 plastic bottles from the ocean per order
  • There's no extra cost to you — we cover it

Why 7kg of CO2?

We calculated the average carbon emissions for a 2lb package shipped from New York to LA by ground, then multiplied that figure by four. It's our way of making sure we're offsetting more than we produce.

Why 2 Plastic Bottles?

Millions of plastic bottles end up in our oceans every year. Two standard bottles also happen to be the recommended daily water intake for an adult — a small but meaningful number to anchor our commitment to. Every order helps clean up a little more of what shouldn't be there.

Sustainable shipping is just one part of how we try to do right by the planet. Every choice we make at Clozist — from the products we carry to the way we get them to your door — is guided by the same question: is this better for our families and the world they'll grow up in?
