These Grade A Ugandan vanilla beans are the real deal — hand-picked, sun-cured, and triple-inspected before they ever reach your kitchen. Whether you're making homemade vanilla extract, baking a custard from scratch, or gifting something truly thoughtful to the baker in your life, these whole pods deliver a depth of flavour that vanilla paste and extract simply can't match.

✨ Flavour Profile

Ugandan Planifolia vanilla has its own character. Expect a rich, creamy sweetness upfront, followed by warm earthy undertones, hints of dark chocolate, and a touch of caramelised sugar. The aroma alone — floral, honeyed, and deeply fragrant — will fill your kitchen the moment you open the bag.

🌿 Features

  • 🫘 Grade A Whole Pods: Plump, dark, and moist — each pod is hand-selected for size and quality before packing.
  • 📏 Generous Pod Length: Approximately 4–7 inches (13–16 cm) per bean, ideal for splitting and scraping.
  • 🌱 Traditionally Cured Planifolia Variety: From the 2023–2024 crop, grown and cured using time-honoured Ugandan methods.
  • 🔍 Triple Inspection Process: Inspected at harvest, before bulk vacuum sealing for transport, and again at the warehouse before your order is packed.
  • 🔒 Industrial Vacuum Sealed: Packed to a tight 28 HG vacuum in a custom industrial pouch to lock in freshness and prevent mould.
  • 📦 Long Shelf Life: Up to 2 years when properly vacuum sealed and stored correctly.

About Vanilla Bean Kings

Meet Vanilla Bean Kings: From a Basement Dream to Madagascar’s Fields.

What started in 2014 with a single kilogram of Madagascar vanilla has grown into a global mission for quality and fairness. Founded by a passionate baker who realized that premium vanilla was often overpriced and under-sourced, Vanilla Bean Kings was built to bridge the gap between Malagasy farmers and your kitchen.

They don’t just sell spices; they build relationships. In 2018, the team traveled to the SAVA region of Madagascar to meet their suppliers firsthand, ensuring that sustainability and fair trade aren't just buzzwords, but a way of life. When you choose Vanilla Bean Kings on Clozist, you are supporting a supply chain that empowers farmers, ensures traceability, and brings the world’s finest "black gold" directly to your pantry.
