Plants start small but, once established, bloom throughout summer and fall. For best results, avoid seeding just before a hot, dry spell and water regularly after seeding and during dry periods.
Seeding is flexible: plant in spring (after the ground thaws and soil reaches around 55°F), or in late fall and winter over frozen ground or fresh snow. If starting with bare soil, add 2–4 lbs of fine fescue grass seed per 1,000 sq ft, or increase the Flawn Seed rate for a clover-dominant look.

- Prepare: Mow your existing lawn short — around 0.5–1 inch — and lightly rake to expose the soil surface.
- Spread: Shake the jar and walk your lawn in rows, waving your arm to distribute seed across roughly a six-foot-wide path.
