Climate Week NYC 2025: Clozist's Reflections & Highlights
Climate Week NYC 2025 has wrapped up, and we're still feeling the energy from it. From community clean-ups to investor panels, it was a week that reminded us why we do what we do at Clozist. Here's a look at the moments that meant the most to us.
Sunday: A Community Clean-Up at Socrates Sculpture Park
We started the week on Sunday, 21 September with a community clean-up at Socrates Sculpture Park. Julie, our co-founder — and co-president of her children's school PTO — helped organise the event alongside the school's sustainability programme and a great group of parents. Two hours outdoors, in genuinely good weather, doing something simple and worthwhile: taking care of the spaces we share.
An Inspiring Invitation: The XPRIZE Event
We were honoured to be invited to the XPRIZE event, where we met a wide range of people united by one shared goal — making the world better. One connection in particular stood out: someone who will help us push forward our mission of reshaping e-commerce into something more eco-friendly and decarbonising online retail. Those kinds of conversations don't happen every week.
Scaling Sustainable Solutions from Quebec
One of the week's highlights was a pitch session titled Scaling Sustainable Solutions from Quebec – Unlock the Power of Your Choices for the Climate! The room was full of practical, forward-thinking ideas that showed how much individual and collective choices can genuinely move the needle on sustainability.
Global Perspectives: Voices from Sudan and Egypt
We also had the chance to connect with advocates and entrepreneurs from Sudan and Egypt, exploring conversations around the impact of AI on health. Hearing from politicians and changemakers working through real challenges — and finding real advances — was grounding. These aren't abstract issues; they affect communities right now.
Thursday: Meeting Global Sustainability Investors
Thursday was a full day spent with global investors in sustainability. The sessions were packed, and the conversations were substantive. What came through clearly was just how much momentum the ecological transition is building — across sectors, borders, and investment strategies.
Friday: Purchasing with Purpose 🌍💚
At Clozist, we put planet and people first — in every product we carry and every partnership we form. We're proud to be verified by the People and Planet First certification, which reflects our commitment to sustainable and responsible sourcing. On Friday, we met new vendors who will be joining the Clozist family shortly. We can't wait to share more.
Saturday: The Marketplace of the Future
We closed the week at the Marketplace of the Future, where innovators and entrepreneurs shared solutions that are genuinely changing how industries and consumers operate. It was a fitting end to a week built on vision, collaboration, and the quiet optimism that comes from being around people who are actually doing the work.
