Why We Built Clozist (And Why Your Reviews Matter So Much)

We wanted to take a moment to share something a little different today — not a product drop, not a sale, just the story behind Clozist.

Where it started

A few years ago, one of us moved to New York City and ran into a problem that seemed like it shouldn't exist: finding sustainable products she could actually trust. Not products wrapped in vague "eco-friendly" language, but things that were genuinely, verifiably better — without spending hours jumping between a dozen different websites just to piece together a more sustainable life.

That frustration is the entire reason Clozist exists.

What we built

So we built a marketplace where every brand is independently checked before it ever reaches you — through real certifications, or by us personally testing the product and talking to the founders ourselves. No self-graded "eco" labels. No taking a brand's word for it.

And it doesn't stop at the product. Every order you place automatically offsets CO2 and helps recover ocean plastic, tracked by an independent partner — not just something we tell you. It's published, auditable, and updated in real time, because we believe verified sustainability should mean something you can actually check, not something you have to take on faith.

We're human, too

Here's the honest part: we're human, and we don't always get everything right. Curating a marketplace this way means we're constantly learning — which products deserve a place here, how to make your experience better, where we've fallen short.
