What’s better than a cruelty-free tinted Mineral Sunscreen infused with exceptionally moisturizing organic argan oil to help repair sun damage? Not much. This sunscreen has all the power of non-nano mineral sunscreen, minus the pale cast — using just a hint of iron oxide for a tint that seamlessly blends with most skin tones. And protects using the perfect balance of non-nano zinc and high- SPF organic red raspberry seed oil, that sits on top of the skin rather than being absorbed, so it can scatter sun rays — without any toxic chemicals.
If an ingredient is available organic, we use it. Each and every ingredient is purposefully sourced with great consideration — and they either boost the sunscreen’s SPF value, moisturize like crazy or make sure it’s safely gentle on uber-sensitive skin. And do you know what’s not in them? Chemicals that are potentially harmful to people and the planet like dimethicone, oxybenzone or octinoxate, artificial fragrance, nano particles or parabens.
Note: The lotion’s tint has a reputation of rubbing off and showing up on light-colored fabric. Which, frankly, is totally rude of iron oxide. However, any marks should come out in the wash. And maybe avoid using your white towels?

This is Melinda Olson; she’s the original Earth Mama. A nurse, mother, and grandmother, Melinda is also a plant lady/gardener and avid herbalist. In the spring of ’97, Melinda began studying medicinal herbs and how to extract their healing powers — which led to planting, nurturing, and harvesting a wide variety of herbs to study how best to harvest their healing essence. What was once a hobby “blossomed” into a life-changing understanding of plant medicine.
Her interest was fueled by a deep desire to educate people about our body’s innate ability to find homeostasis and to use plants to help nudge them back into balance. As humans, we have the opportunity to live long and healthy lives, as long as we avoid harming ourselves — and the earth— in the process. Why not heal and support our bodies with what nature has readily available. Her obsession quickly became a passion to marry evidence-based research with practical knowledge about how to harness nature’s gifts.
In 2002, Melinda began making and sharing organic tinctures, teas, soaps, and salves using self-grown herbs. These were formulations grounded in earth wisdom and ancient knowledge — and they worked. Melinda had a feeling the world was ready for these kinds of remedies— especially pregnant and postpartum women, their babies, and their families. There is even a line of products to comfort and support women who have suffered baby loss. And thus, Earth Mama the Company was born.
Eventually, Earth Mama outgrew Melinda’s garage, laundry room, dining room, kitchen, and halfway down the bedroom hall, so the company expanded into a facility in Clackamas, Oregon. Soon, thousands of pregnant women and new mamas looked to Earth Mama for safe herbal products for baby care, and to effectively soothe the common discomforts of pregnancy, postpartum, breastfeeding, and way beyond. Now, Melinda’s company is known as Earth Mama Organics … but it’s still the same reliable, trusted line of mama and baby care that began over two decades ago. Even better? Melinda is still the formulator of every product, still runs the company, is still obsessed with plants, and, if you ask her, she will probably share her wisdom about what it really means to be organic. For hours. Maybe even days. Because she’s passionate about doing no harm.
