Saltverk: Reviving a 300-Year-Old Icelandic Legacy.
In the remote Westfjords of Iceland, where the North Arctic Ocean meets pristine volcanic landscapes, Saltverk is doing the impossible: producing the world’s only 100% sustainable, carbon-neutral flaky sea salt. Founded in 2011 by Björn Steinar Jónsson, an engineer with a passion for food, Saltverk revived an 18th-century method established by the Danish King that had been lost for centuries.
Using nothing but the natural 206°F (93°C) geothermal energy from local hot springs and the crystal-clean seawater of the Reykjanes peninsula, Saltverk creates hand-harvested salt with a zero carbon footprint. Every crunchy, mineral-rich flake is a testament to Icelandic craftsmanship and a promise that luxury doesn't have to cost the Earth.
Shipping & Delivery
Orders are usually dispatched within 2-3 business days.
The shipping rate is calculated and displayed at checkout. Free shipping is available for orders over $49.00 for Shakers members of our reward program, and with no minimum, for Makers members (We can't offer free shipping when the lowest shipping cost exceeds $10).
Shipment confirmation and order tracking:
Once your order is fulfilled, you receive a tracking number to follow your package by email. Allow 24-48 hours for the carrier to update the tracking number in its system.
We might ship your order in more than 1 package. In that case, you receive a tracking number for each shipment.
