🌄 The Farm Story
Café Sierra Azul is a small cooperative nestled in Chiapas, Mexico, sitting inside the El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve — the largest remaining tropical rainforest on the Mexican Pacific coast. Founded in 2010 by young people who grew up in coffee farming, the cooperative was built on one idea: that staying home should be a real option. Today, around 300 members — the majority women and young producers — access better markets, technical support, and community projects through Sierra Azul. One producer even returned from farming in Utah to grow coffee in his home community. That kind of story is what's in every bag.

About Wagon Coffee
## Wagon Coffee Roasters
Every cup of coffee has the power to bring people together—but at **Wagon Coffee Roasters**, it also has the power to create second chances.
Founded in Denver, Colorado, by **Tami Canaday**, Wagon Coffee was born from a deeply personal mission. Inspired by her husband Ryan's recovery journey and their work supporting individuals affected by addiction through their nonprofit **FREE**, Tami wanted to build a business that would create meaningful opportunities for women rebuilding their lives. The name "Wagon" comes from the familiar expression **"on the wagon,"** symbolizing sobriety and a commitment to recovery.
Today, Wagon Coffee is a **100% women-owned and operated** coffee roastery that empowers women in recovery through employment, encouragement, and community. By creating a supportive workplace and investing in people rather than just products, the company demonstrates how business can be a force for positive social change.
### Coffee with Purpose
Wagon Coffee believes that exceptional coffee begins with exceptional relationships. The company sources its beans through trusted partners who share its commitment to transparency, sustainability, and ethical trade. Rather than simply meeting Fair Trade standards, Wagon Coffee strives to pay producer partners above Fair Trade prices, supporting living incomes and long-term relationships with coffee-growing communities. Their coffee is carefully processed from farm to cup by people who receive fair, livable wages.
### Sustainability in Every Roast
Environmental responsibility is just as important as social impact. Wagon Coffee roasts every batch using an innovative **Bellwether** electric roasting system powered by clean energy. This technology eliminates direct roasting emissions while significantly reducing the carbon footprint of each roasting cycle—up to **90% lower** than traditional gas-powered roasting methods. It also minimizes air pollutants and volatile organic compounds, making coffee roasting cleaner for both people and the environment.
### Small Batches, Big Impact
Every coffee is artisan roasted in small batches to highlight the unique flavors of its origin while ensuring exceptional consistency and freshness. Whether you're brewing your first morning cup or sharing coffee with friends, Wagon Coffee believes every purchase can help build stronger communities, support ethical farming, and create opportunities for women on their recovery journey.
At **Clozist**, we're proud to welcome Wagon Coffee Roasters to our community of purpose-driven brands. Their commitment to empowering women, supporting ethical coffee producers, and reducing the environmental impact of coffee roasting perfectly reflects our belief that everyday purchases can create meaningful change—for people and for the planet.
