"I was elated to have the opportunity to visit the Grain de Sail II on July 11, 2024 at Pier 17 in the South Street Seaport, during its special visit to New York City. The crew was very courteous and welcomed me and my 12-year old son aboard, providing us with a tasting of its scrumptious chocolates. The extensive spread included a very unique sesame chocolate blend, coconut chocolate, a delectable coffee milk chocolate, and an 85% cocoa dark chocolate.
My son and I loved the chocolates so much, that we wanted to buy some right there on the spot. However we were informed that regulations didn’t allow the products to be sold on the ship. Luckily, I was able to purchase some from Closliist, a sustainable products retailer, based in New York City!
I was very impressed that the ship had made its way all the way from France with its wind-powered cargo system, having picked up the cocoa beans for its products in South America. I highly recommend Grain de Sail chocolates for you and your loved ones. Not only is the chocolate of the best I have ever tasted, but also, in supporting this company, you will decrease your carbon footprint and help create a more sustainable planet.
